Smashed Blue Potatoes

Earlier this week Mark called me on his way to work to tell me that a giant truck filled with sweet corn was parked alongside the road. I took his hint and bought a few more ears. That evening we had the corn along with the blue potatoes, mashed with their skins and a little sour cream and butter. We also grilled a couple sherry teriyaki marinated chicken breasts that I picked up at The Old Time Meat and Deli Shop. I've never tried store marinated meat but it was actually quite good, probably because it had been marinating for days.

Sarah brought me six pounds of heirloom tomatoes this week. Before I could point out that Mark doesn't even eat tomatoes she said, "Oh, just make a marinara sauce or something." I guess there is a lot that can be done with so many tomatoes. I was thinking about making ketchup, but I'll have to find a recipe. And some time.
